We started with after-school programs in Sacramento, opened an office in Manila, and now run AI education and adoption programs for learners, teams and schools on a platform we build.
Our story
From after-school AI programs to our own platform
Techedify, formerly EmpowerTO, was founded by business and tech professionals who saw the need for project-based learning that prepares students for a future shaped by generative AI. Our first programs taught students in three California school districts.
Existing learning platforms were hard for teachers to adapt, so we built our own. It now runs our courses and other organizations' academies, and we have added two more products.

Timeline
2023 to 2026: from school districts to three products

2023
Summer and after-school programs in three California school districts. The Buzzy partnership brings no-code app building into K-12.

2024
The Sparked platform takes shape. We sign a memorandum of understanding with Rizal Technological University in August and Project LakbAI with RTU and DepEd-Makati in December.

2025
The Makati office opens. The GenAI Citizenship Course is listed in DepEd Advisory No. 147, s. 2025. RTU trains faculty on two campuses and agrees to four initiatives, including an AI hub.

2026
In July, 440 leaders at the Formidea conference and a learning session at Letran. Flow and Code Box join Sparked as products.
